Reading programme

Reading for Bright Futures:

Welcome to The No-Stone Foundation’s Reading and Remedial Reading Programme, where the pages of books become bridges to brighter futures. Our commitment to education and literacy drives this initiative, as we believe that a community empowered with knowledge can achieve remarkable heights.

Unlocking Potential Through Reading:

Reading is a key that unlocks doors to new worlds, ideas, and opportunities. Our programme is designed to promote a love for reading among community members of all ages. By offering a diverse range of books and engaging reading activities, we’re nurturing a culture of exploration and discovery.

The Power of Remedial Reading:

We understand that each individual’s learning journey is unique. Our remedial reading sessions provide personalized support to those who may need a little extra assistance. Through patient guidance and tailored strategies, we’re helping learners overcome challenges and build confidence in their reading abilities.

Embracing Nalibali’s Philosophy:

We are proud to align our reading programme with the Nalibali reading resources and philosophy. Nalibali, meaning “here’s the story” in isiXhosa, is a movement for reading and storytelling that envisions a nation where everyone can experience the joy of reading. We share Nalibali’s belief that stories hold transformative power and that reading should be accessible to all.

Creating Lifelong Learners:

Our reading programme isn’t just about reading words on a page; it’s about cultivating a lifelong love for learning. Through interactive storytelling sessions, book clubs, and reading challenges, we’re fostering an environment where curiosity and imagination thrive.

Community, Connection, and Growth:

The heart of our reading programme lies in community connection. We’re bringing together individuals from all walks of life to share stories, exchange ideas, and celebrate the joy of reading. By nurturing a sense of belonging and encouraging dialogue, we’re sowing the seeds of unity and growth.

Partnering for Progress:

We invite you to be a part of our reading revolution. Whether you’re a reader, a parent, an educator, or simply someone who believes in the transformative power of words, your participation makes a difference. Together, we can turn pages into pathways to success.

For more information about our Reading and Remedial Reading Programme, as well as how you can contribute or participate, please reach out to us. Let’s embark on this literary journey together, guided by the philosophy of Nalibali and fueled by the passion for knowledge.

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
