There’s a cluster of seventeen small houses in Kalbaskraal known as Die Kamp. They’ve been through years of hardship—some with no glass left in the windows, cardboard now doing its best to keep out the cold. Paint is a distant memory. But next week, we meet the community.
Not to start working—but to listen, lay out the vision, and invite them in.
The Bo-Kamp Project is rooted in dignity. It’s about showing people what could be, and walking that road with them—one home at a time. Inspired by the vibrant houses of Bo-Kaap, we plan to give each home in Die Kamp a full facelift, complete with new glass, structural repairs, and a bold new coat of paint. But only if the families themselves are ready to work for it.
Here’s how it works:
No-Stone supplies the materials, tools, and supervision.
The homeowner provides the labour.
If they’re willing to do the work, the house gets done.
Once complete, we move to Phase Two: a vegetable garden and possibly fruit trees, through the Kweek Programme.
This is not a handout. It’s a partnership.
We will not do this for people. We will do it with them.
We can only tackle one house at a time, depending entirely on funds raised and materials available. Our team—especially Tim—is preparing to approach hardware suppliers, paint manufacturers, and glass fitters for support. But we need more.
If you or your company can help—
🎨 With paint
🪟 With window panes or tools
🪴 With gardening materials or trees
👷 Or even expertise or labour
Please reach out.
This is how dignity is rebuilt. One wall, one room, one garden at a time.
