As mentioned, we have many wonderful people that want to make impact but do not know how, one of these people have given us permission to put 1000 sqm under irrigation. We will be planting succulents there on a small scale, and veggies on a large scale. We are currently involved with 3 feeding schemes, and the plan is to allocate space to each of them, then facilitate their development of their own crops.
They will turn the soil and plant, we will supply the water and ground and daily grind. They will come and harvest and take back the fruit of their labour. We are hoping to supply seed as well and are in talks with companies. To date, we have received 20 cubic meters of organic compost from Swaco Organies, a remarkable company that supports the local communities. The reason for the succulents is that selling planters (that another partner of ours manufactures) with plants in is an effective way for other partners to raise funds.
