Launch a huge success

Posted on 2 August 20228 August 2022 by Admin

We have had a few days to ponder on how effective the launch was. The truth is this, it was far more effective than we would have hoped. The reason for this is a collection of factors;

The invited guest speakers and performers were simply world class

Friday

On Friday night Ps Peter D was his usual self, full of verve, vigor and wisdom. The local NG church was not full, but there were sufficient people there that needed a solid bit of encouragement and support, then Ps Peter handed over to Euclid and Kim Lynne.

Euclid and Kim Lynne stepped up and lead us in worship to a place that God prepared for us. Setting us up for a good day on Saturday.

Bronwyn from Community Cohesion has extensive knowledge and experience in talking to diverse groups of people and this was certainly evident on how she took a group of strangers and showed them all that they were not strange… One of the questions asked really got one thinking, “if an alien had to land in the group at that moment and chose to be human, what gender would it choose?”

Bronwyn intrigued and challenged paradigms and old habits to the full extent of her capacity and everyone was smiling. She lay the ground work for understanding the reality of Gender Based Violence and also laid out the strategy of what start doing and put in place for Victim Empowerment.

This will be ongoing training and ultimately the goal is to have trained up social workers in Kalbaskraal on a permanent basis.

Then we were blessed with the next challenging speaker, Ps Peter D from Ground Level Ministries, Peter, like Bronwyn and all world class teachers are able to challenge without discomfort as he went on about the leadership dynamic, something that so very few South Africans really understand, and I would be bold enough to say, even fewer churches / ministries prepare people for.

The standout point was simple. YOU GOTTA DO SOMETHING, you must push boundaries or ceilings till you get through them. You will then see that there is more that you can do, but as you do push your way out of your mental box, you are now in another box, albeit a larger box. Push through that one as well and keep on to the limits of your potential.

Then feed the crew quickly with Boerewors Potjie (contact Ps Mark for the hall of fame recipe) and chicken potjie for the crew that came through from Platinum City to minister and bless us. (Blikkiesdorp in Delft).

Back to the Pinkster church and we hand over to Euclid and Kim-Lynne J for the experience of a lifetime.

Once more these two showed what passionate, honest and sincere worship is about.

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
