The Path of a Shepherd: Embracing the Essence of Love

Posted on 28 May 202328 May 2023 by Admin

Though The No-Stone Foundation is NOT a Christian NGO, the Remarkable Influence of Faith Within its Ranks: A Personal Account

Discovering Those Who Truly "Get It"

In our journey as shepherds in Christ, we rarely encounter fellow brothers and sisters who truly grasp the essence of Christianity. These individuals understand that the most crucial aspect of our faith is love. They embrace the golden rule, treating others as they themselves would want to be treated. Today, we want to take a moment to appreciate those who exemplify this understanding and obedience to God, our Father and Author of life. The curious thing is, that this applies to all Faith systems, however, I am talking from a Christian perspective.

Revelations Amidst Illness: The Only Two Commandments That Matter

Recently, whilst facing a severe illness that brought me to the brink of meeting my King and Champion, I experienced a revelation. Amidst the draining of life from my body, I discovered a clear and definitive message: we must constantly remind ourselves and others of the only two commandments that truly matter. Everything else must be filtered through this simple yet absolute framework.

Love God with All Your Heart: A Call for Devotion and Surrender

The first commandment calls us to love God with our entire being. This love goes beyond mere words or rituals; it’s a heartfelt devotion that encompasses our thoughts, actions, and desires. When we truly love God, we acknowledge His sovereignty, seek His guidance, and surrender our lives to His will.

Love Your Neighbour as Yourself: Extending Compassion, Mercy, and Grace

The second commandment emphasises the importance of treating others with the same love and kindness we desire for ourselves. It is a call to extend compassion, mercy, and grace to those around us, regardless of their background, beliefs, or circumstances. This love bridges gaps, breaks down barriers, and fosters unity within the body of Christ.

The Rarity of Understanding: Traversing a Path Marked by Absence

Unfortunately, finding individuals who genuinely grasp the significance of these commandments is no easy task. As shepherds, we traverse a path often marked by the absence of understanding. But when we do encounter those who “get it,” their obedience becomes a shining testament to the transformative power of God’s love.

A Shout-Out to Obedience: Celebrating Those Who Embody True Christianity

Today, I want to acknowledge and celebrate the obedience of those individuals who embody the true essence of Christianity. Their actions speak volumes about their deep-rooted faith and their unwavering commitment to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

This shout-out is not directed towards any individual or ministry, but rather towards their obedience to God, our Father, Creator, and Author of life. It is a reminder to all of us that our faith is not about personal gain or recognition, but about serving God and loving one another wholeheartedly.

Not to Us, but to God: Obedience as a Testament to His Love

As shepherds walking the path of faith, we sometimes feel disheartened by the scarcity of those who truly “get it.” However, when we encounter individuals who embrace the fundamental commandments of love, it is a cause for celebration. These remarkable souls serve as a guiding light, reminding us of the profound simplicity of our faith and the transformative power of God’s love. Let us continue to seek and uplift one another, sharing the message of love and compassion that lies at the core of Christianity.

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
