Story Bringers Unleashed

Posted on 3 October 20233 October 2023 by Admin

Final Training Countdown!

Greetings from The No-Stone Foundation! Today marks an exciting chapter in our journey as we delve into the second round of training under the wonderfully capable hands of Peta, our dedicated leader of the Story Bringers program.

The training session was filled with laughter, learning, and a touch of nostalgia as we utilized the chalkboards generously donated to us. The tactile experience of writing and drawing on the chalkboards added a special element to our practice, creating a vibrant and interactive atmosphere.

Under Peta’s guidance, our tutors engaged in practical exercises, honing their skills by practicing on each other. The exchange of stories, animated reading sessions, and the creative process of writing were not only educational but also loads of fun.

The net result of our collective efforts? We’re now poised for the final run-in on Thursday, where our Story Bringers will take center stage in guiding young minds through the magical world of storytelling.

Thursday’s event is more than just a culmination of training sessions. It’s a celebration of the journey we’ve embarked on together. Our Story Bringers are not just tutors; they are mentors, friends, and companions on the road to literacy.

During this final run-in, our focus will be on getting young people excited about reading, weaving enchanting stories, and, most importantly, listening to their unique narratives. Each participant will have the opportunity to tell their story and, in a beautiful twist, start the journey of writing their own book.

The anticipation is palpable, and we can’t wait to witness the transformative power of storytelling unfold on Thursday. Stay tuned for updates on this momentous day and the incredible stories that are sure to emerge from the hearts and minds of Kalbaskraal’s youth.

Together, as Story Bringers, we’re not just shaping readers; we’re empowering storytellers, one captivating tale at a time. The adventure continues, and we’re grateful to have you alongside us on this literary journey.

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
