A Community United: The Power of Giving Back

Posted on 21 March 202321 March 2023 by Admin

From Animal Clinics to Creches, Here's How We're Making a Difference Together

The No-Stone Foundation is buzzing with activity and blessings at the moment, and we are excited to share some updates with our community. One of our recent accomplishments is the construction of an animal clinic for Chocolate’s Angels Animal Rescue. This project has been a labor of love, made possible by the generosity of our donors and the expertise of our team.

Chocolate's Animal Rescue

Jason and his team, including Opa and Bones, have done an incredible job of building the clinic from the ground up. The cement floor is being laid, the walls are paneled, and the working surfaces and cupboard space have been delivered. All that’s left is for Gerswin from Arbor Vitae Designs to build a solid barn door, and the clinic will be ready to open.

his clinic will be a game-changer for Chocolate’s Angels Animal Rescue, bringing much-needed order to their chaotic operation. It will allow them to put structures in place and provide traveling vets with a space to examine pets and administer medication. We are thrilled to have played a role in making this project a reality, and we thank all of our donors for their contributions.

Hazel's Haven

But that’s not all. We are also raising funds to renovate Hazel’s Haven, a creche that was damaged in a recent storm. We have ordered the exterior wood and collected everything we need for the interior, thanks to the generosity of our donors, including SS and SDDS.

This week, we will be putting up the roof support columns, and once the exterior wood is delivered, we will begin the renovation process. We can’t wait to see the finished product and provide a safe and welcoming space for children in need.

In addition to these projects, we are also working on a veggie garden, with a 1000l water tank donated by 2X5, a partner of The No Stone Foundation. We plan to use furrow irrigation since the water is quite brackish, and the borehole will fill the tank up as needed.

Just waiting for the tractor now.

Finally, we would like to thank Pro-Nature for their ongoing support of our cause, supplying oils and paints for the woodwork that is taking place. We are also grateful for the outpouring of donations and support for our Daily Bread Feeding Scheme and Chocolate’s Angels food donations.

All of this activity and blessing in our midst is a testament to the power of community and the impact we can make when we work together. We are proud to be a part of this effort and look forward to continuing our work to make a difference in the lives of those around us. Thank you to all of our donors, volunteers, and supporters for your contributions and dedication to our cause.

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
