Can we REALLY change the world?

Changing World Views, It may be simpler and more effective

Hola from The No-Stone Foundation in the heart of Kalbaskraal, a small rural village not far from Cape Town. We, at No-Stone, strive to make a difference in the lives of those in need. While we may not change the entire world for them, we firmly believe that altering their world views can set them on a transformative journey. Today, we want to share a heartwarming experience that reminded us of the immense power of small acts and how they can pave the way for lasting change.

Last week, as I walked into our quad, I was greeted by the heartwarming sight of four old friends engaged in a spirited card game. Despite facing life’s challenges, they found joy and connection in each other’s company. This beautiful moment reinforced our belief that happiness can flourish even amidst adversity. It was a glimpse of the transformative potential that lies within every individual, waiting to be awakened.

Today, I had the opportunity to witness the impact of a simple act of kindness. Spotting a familiar face, I went over and handed him a new deck of cards, still sealed and untouched. He received it with cautious curiosity, unsure of what to make of this unexpected gift. But as he exchanged words of “blessings” in Afrikaans, a connection was formed. This small gesture opened a window of possibility, an invitation for him to explore the world in new ways.

Changing world views is not an easy task, especially in the face of adversity. But we at The No-Stone Foundation firmly believe that even the tiniest spark of compassion can ignite a transformation. Our mission is not about imposing external changes; instead, we aim to create a nurturing environment where small acts of kindness can blossom into lasting impacts.

Through consistent reinforcement of positive experiences with love and care, we strive to empower individuals to envision a different world – one of their own choosing. We know that it takes a collective effort to bring about change, and that’s why we are reaching out to you with a humble plea for help.

We call on all individuals who believe in the power of compassion and love to support our mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness, your contribution can help foster a world view of hope, resilience, and possibility.

Together, let’s create a world where hope and love prevail, where individuals in Kalbaskraal and beyond can embrace a world of their choice and become catalysts for positive change. It may not be the entire world we change, but through our combined efforts, we can certainly change their world views and, in doing so, help them shape their own world for the better.

Join us on this journey of transformation, and together, let’s be the change we wish to see in the world. We can not change the world of those we help, but we can change the way they look at it and that may be enough for them to change it themselves.

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
