Unveiling the Heart of Knowledge

Posted on 28 October 202328 October 2023 by Admin

Saskia's Place Library Opening Soon! : Update

Greetings, fellow book enthusiasts and community builders! We’re thrilled to share an exciting update from Saskia’s Place in Kalbaskraal. The heart of this vibrant community is about to beat a little louder with the grand opening of Saskia’s Place Library on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at 10:00.

The journey to this moment has been a collaborative masterpiece, crafted by countless hands and fueled by the passion for knowledge. Picture this: shelves adorned with care, walls painted with the hues of inspiration, and the promise of Anine’s artistic flair bringing life to the space both inside and out.

But that’s not all—this library is about to become a canvas of creativity, thanks to the arrival of 2004 books from DCAS Library services. The pages of these books are not just filled with words; they hold the potential to spark imaginations, ignite curiosity, and foster a love for learning.

As the finishing touches come together this week, with Anine’s brushstrokes and the careful tending of the garden, we can’t help but feel the anticipation building. The library is not just a physical space; it’s a haven for minds to explore, connect, and grow.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has volunteered their time and skills to make this dream a reality. Your hands have woven the threads of a literary tapestry that will undoubtedly leave a lasting imprint on the community.

So, mark your calendars for November 4th, 2023, at 10:00, and be part of this momentous occasion. Saskia’s Place Library is not just a collection of books; it’s a testament to the power of community, collaboration, and the boundless potential that lies within the covers of every book.

Join us in celebrating the joy of reading, the magic of art, and the spirit of community at Saskia’s Place. Together, let’s open the doors to a world of possibilities!

See you there!

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
