Discovering a New Galaxy in Kalbaskraal: No-Stone Campus Shines Bright

Posted on 10 January 202410 January 2024 by Admin

Saskia's Place is alive

We’ve got some celestial news that will make your heart twinkle with excitement! In the heart of Kalbaskraal, a new galaxy of stars has been discovered, and it’s none other than the radiant young minds at No-Stone Campus. Our own librarian, the bright and shining sun herself, made this extraordinary discovery in Saskia’s place, nestled within the walls of the newly prepared No-Stone Campus.

But, before we delve into the cosmos of these young stars, it’s with a tinge of sadness and a whole lot of anticipation that we share the news of bidding adieu to No-Stone House at the end of this month. Fear not, for we’re not just moving; we’re upgrading! Say hello to our new cosmic hub, the “Klein Skooltjie” right here in Kalbaskraal. We’ve traded a house for a preschool, and the possibilities are as vast as the galaxy itself.

Now, let’s talk about the recent cosmic events. On Monday, with the help of our amazing community, we successfully moved to the new No-Stone Campus. Tuesday was all about setting up our beloved library, and by Wednesday, it was ready to open its doors to the public. It’s not the official launch (that’s coming soon!), but the excitement is already palpable.

Today, a whopping 22 young people entered The Library. As they stepped in, they couldn’t help but notice the fun vibes—with desks turned towards each other, tables out, an abundance of books, and chalkboards waiting for creativity to unfold. Three hours later, Lauren had to gently “encourage” them out, so she could grab a well-deserved lunch.

Kudos to Lauren and Anine for making this cosmic journey a reality! A big shout-out to Robyn and Anke, who joined us in the village yesterday to lend a helping hand in building the foundations of this new galaxy.

Stay tuned, because something exciting will be happening EVERY day at No-Stone Campus in Saskia’s place until school kicks back in. And when it does, get ready for a whole new set of stellar programs.

The universe of No-Stone is expanding, and we can’t wait for you to be a part of it. Shine on, No-Stone stars!

No-Stone House

Has moved to Skool Street. Come and see Saskia's Place, the library or come and watch the reading programmes take place. OR if you would like to sit in at Jo's Cafe' a place of safety where young people can just come and be. We will start soon with out Saturday morning programmes.

Our Team

The team has a mix of youth and experience, energy and wisdom. The bulk of the team live in Kalbaskraal. Again, this is headed up by Heike (with 24 yrs of outreach ministry experience) and Mark (40 yrs of coaching at various levels and sports). We can then add Jo-Anne with her 30 years of ministry and outreach.

Our Relationships

We have strong relationships with many ministries and companies. Each supporting us in various ways and in Kalbaskraal and out. Our prime focus is to be a complete service provider for the local primary school OJ Erasmus, and sourcing any resources that they require. Keep in mind that this is a model we are building to move onto other rural schools in the Swartland.
